
Digital Rights for Educational Productions Video Programs
Educational Productions has produced more than 50 award-winning videos that provide core training for adults working with children from birth to 8 years of age. Digital rights are now available for all videos. With a digital rights license, an institution may include videos in online courses, workshops, seminars and computer-based trainings.

What a digital rights license includes
An institution can purchase a license to use an entire video for educational purposes, including distance learning courses, seminars and workshops. The institution may purchase a license that permits:
• only video streaming
• only duplication of up to 40 copies for student loaners
• both video streaming and duplication rights
•only embedding in a PowerPoint presentation
• all of the above
The license does not permit:
• editing or altering the video content in any way, however video(s) may be separated into segments or chapters
• insertion of the video(s) into a third party video source
• transfer of digital rights to another entity
• duplication of the video(s) for sale
• any other uses beyond those stated in this document
Streaming rights:
Video streaming from the institution’s server for use in an online course or training. Video program(s) may be separated into video segments, or chapters, but may not be edited to change the content or inserted into a third party video source. Licensee is responsible for conversion of video(s) to digital fi le for streaming. The institution must control access to the video(s) by students via a password, sign in, or some other appropriate security measure, and the video(s) should not be available to be copied by the student.
Loaner duplication rights:
Licensee may make up to 40 copies of the video(s) to DVD, VHS or CD for distribution to students in a course. Students may not keep media; media must be provided on a loaner basis only. Licensee must have a policy in place for recovering media. Video(s) may be separated into video segments, or chapters, but may not be edited to change the content or inserted into a third party video source. Licensee may make own loaner media, or may purchase loaners from EdPro for an additional cost. If licensee makes own loaner media, institution is responsible for conversion of video(s) to digital fi le for duplication.
Embedding in a PowerPoint presentation rights:
Licensee may make one digital copy of the video file to embed in a PowerPoint or other similar presentation software, to be shown at a face-to-face presentation. Creating multiple copies of the presentation or delivery of the presentation online would not be permitted except as agreed upon by the Licensee and Educational Productions.
How to purchase digital rights
To purchase digital rights, the purchaser must:
1. own or purchase a copy of the video program(s)
2. submit an Application to Purchase Digital Rights License
After verifying the information, Educational Productions will issue a license specifying the digital rights purchased, the term of the agreement, the cost of the license, and any additional options purchased by the licensee.
Digital files
TrainerVision digital rights includes a separate copy of the digital movie files on CD-ROM. For all other programs, the purchaser is responsible for converting the DVD or VHS to digital files. Purchase of already converted digital files is an additional fee.
Required copyright notice
Instructional materials for students and other viewers that include Educational Productions’ video(s) must include the following statement:
The video included with this training is protected by copyright and used with permission of Educational Productions Inc. Video cannot be duplicated and/or reproduced, in whole or in part, in any form, without the written permission of Educational Productions Inc.
Renewable license fee schedule
Digital rights are granted for a limited time. Before a license expires, the licensee will be contacted by Educational Productions Inc. and can either renew the license or agree to remove the digital file(s) from all servers and to destroy all loaner copies.
Additional options
For additional fees, a licensee can:
• Purchase loaner DVDs for students
• Rent a video master for digitizing and duplicating
• Purchase rights to duplicate additional loaner copies
• Purchase limited broadcast rights
