Course description
Discipline just keeps getting tougher. Everyone wants the techniques and strategies that work. This video-based coure focuses on developing the foundation that is critical to choosing andusing effective discipline strategies with children from 3 to 8 years. Identify common attitudes, beliefs and expectations that create barriers to positive outcomes. Learn simple ways to work with, instead of against, misbehavior, how to turn conflicts into teaching situations and how helping children solve discipline problems can be used to further curriculum goals.
Video demonstrations are a key component of this course. These video segments were captured documentary style in a variety of classrooms and care settings. A sample video clip highlights a teacher coaching a child to support the development of his social skills. Other video scenes show examples of the strategies presented in the coursework, so that you can see how they are implemented by highly skilled teachers and how children react and respond.
