Strategies that encourage and teach
Educational Productions has several video training series, listed below, that show how to help young children learn the skills for getting along with each other and following classroom rules and expectations. These award-winning programs are widely used for preservice and inservice training.

Emphasis on real world problems, supportive solutions
Here are the issues child care, pre-K and primary staff encounter daily. Solutions include how to plan for positive behaviors and how to use prevention strategies that reduce discipline problems. Viewers learn a variety of ways to intervene when problems occur and focus on how to help children learn to work together and solve problems.

This powerful training series is a unique learn-and-practice format. It helps identify attitudes about discipline, explore new ways to view conflict and problem solving. It emphasizes how positive adult-child relationships help reduce discipline problems and models ways to encourage these relationships. The series also explores some reasons why children may have difficult behviors and models how to problem solve and support more positive responses and actions.

Preventing Discipline Problems

This series, in a learn-and-practice format, emphasizes the strategies that create classrooms with more cooperative behavior and fewer discipline problems. It emphasizes planning, identifying positive classroom rules and helping children understand and learn about classroom expectations. The videos help viewers learn how to reduce difficulties during daily transitions and how to nurture responsible behavior that increases children's skills and lessens problems and challenges.

Come Join In! models and teaches how to involve children in group activities successfully. It shows adults how to respond to children with different abilities and skills. The program emphasizes techniques for holding a group's attention and preventing disruptions.

Guidance Techniques at Group Time

Give Yourself a Hand helps adults learn how to prevent confusion and upsets when working with groups. It shows how children will engage in activities and manage more readily when they clearly understand what to expect and what is expected of them. The program models core strategies that enable children to self-manage at group or circle time.

Individualized teaching strategies to help every child succeed

Three to eight years
Seven videos show how to intentionally support cognitive, language and social-emotional development in a play-based learning environment. Helps increase observation skills and models how to intervene with children who are missing out on learning.

The Power of Positive Communication
Increase children's understanding, reduce discipline problems

Three to eight years
A complete three-session training teaches how and why to use clear, positive language to help children to follow expectations and learn. Emphasizes strategies that assist both children with special needs and English language learners. CD-ROM teaches through video rich modeling, interactive exercises, reflection questions and action plans.
